![Oaxacan carving, Guadalupe [sold]](https://s.turbifycdn.com/aah/corazon-fair-trade/oaxacan-carving-guadalupe-sold-24.gif)
[sold] An signed alebrije of Guadalupe from well known carver Placido Santiago Cruz. Sr. Cruz and his son are both accomplished artisans from one of the less-well travelled carving villages around Oaxaca, La Union. They are known for their use of aniline dyes, instead of paint. The color actually saturates into the copal wood, and lends a luminous intensity with no surface sheen. The Cruz's carving is also very expressive. 7"H x 3"w x 2"d. Detail views below. Mexico.50
